High Profile NETA Brookline, located within a converted bank, features high ceilings and elegant dark wood accents, offering an extensive menu that features edibles, pre-rolls and vaporizers.

Detroit Legacy informed 34 equity licensee applicants back in December that they could convert from dispensaries to adult-use retail operations, following City Council approval of revised marijuana business licensing rules. The opening took place last Tuesday after Columbia enacted changes that paved the way for adult-use cannabis stores to open within its city limits.

Pure Oasis

Just one year after Cultivate in Leicester and NETA in Northampton became Massachusetts’ inaugural retail marijuana shops, Boston saw its inaugural cannabis shop open for business: Pure Oasis in Dorchester is owned by two black entrepreneurs who were the first to gain license through Massachusetts Equity Program and aim to help communities affected by drug war regain a foothold in new industry.

Evans and Hart have spent many months planning their store, and are eager to see its impact in its first days of business. But they remain mindful of its possible ramifications on their neighborhood; so they plan to monitor its performance “hour by hour” to gauge whether adjustments must be made in order to mitigate crowding or traffic issues.

Pure Oasis will offer more than just marijuana products; their owners hope that eventually, it can also act as a business incubator, offering technical support for local entrepreneurs looking to enter the marijuana industry.

Pure Oasis made headlines this week when looters broke in and stole cannabis from its shelves, according to co-owner Kobie Evans of Pure Oasis, and took about 2,000 pre-rolled joints and containers of marijuana flower valued at more than $100,000 from their shelves. Evans told the Boston Globe that this money will go directly towards supporting socially-oriented Haley House cafe in Nubian Square which operates a soup kitchen, food pantry, and housing for those recently released from imprisonment.

Abington marks the second adult-use retail cannabis location for this company, following Worcester. Vermont Craft Cultivators’ products and a selection of cannabis accessories can be found at their store, which features an expansive sales counter with wooden grain shelving lining the walls. Their shop has a modern, yet cozy ambience.

In addition to branded merchandise they also sell. This store is part of the Detroit Legacy Coalition and operates as a community-based business. One of its key characteristics is carrying products from local companies – making it an excellent way for locals to find great products at reasonable prices. Residents with medical cards also qualify for discounts that allow them to buy more product while saving money over time.

Seed

Seed Marijuana Shop in the heart of New York City was opened as an initiative towards social equity within this emerging market. Customers can browse in-store selections of flower, prerolls, tinctures and edibles by women- and BIPOC-run brands, or place orders online for pickup at Seed. In addition, Housing Works supports unhoused communities affected by HIV since 1990 through Housing Works membership – thus making Seed even more of an important destination in NYC!

At Seed Bureau International (BBI), we manage several voluntary seed certification and accreditation programs designed to ensure that seed sold on domestic and international markets meets quality standards. These inspections cover fields and greenhouse establishments, testing laboratories, conditioning operations and packaging operations – with inspectors also conducting testing of interstate commerce shipments of seeds.

Michigan offers numerous licensed dispensaries that serve both medical and recreational marijuana, with most offering extensive menus with free delivery for purchases of $50 or more. Medical cardholders may take advantage of an additional 15% discount; stores like High Profile in Buchanan offer a comprehensive selection of cannabis-related items.

They support and empower minority communities, veterans, LGBTQI+ people, economically distressed individuals and economically stressed groups through outreach programs as part of this commitment to diversity and inclusion.

As New York prepares to launch its legal marijuana market, Massachusetts dispensary owners are bracing themselves for what may become a significant new competitor. Sanders does not believe the presence of such an expansive new market will significantly alter things in the near term, however.

Chavez’s

Boston may only have a few legal adult-use pot shops–and none in every neighborhood–but Boston’s first retail dispensary, Chavez’s, stands out. Opening last week in Dorchester with an incredible turnout that included local politicians and lifelong neighbors alike–plus surprise appearance from Massachusetts rapper Millyz!

High Profile Chavez’s is own and run by Brian Chavez of Budega and his brother Jaison; its name honors Cesar Chavez of United Farm Workers who led an ongoing series of strikes, boycotts and protests to help fight for farm worker’s rights until his death near Yuma in 1993.

Like its sister locations in Roxbury and Roslindale, Dorchester boasts High Profile-curated flower, pre-rolls, concentrates and vape cartridges from C3 Industries – including their Cloud Cover product grown right in Franklin. All three High Profile stores also provide delivery services throughout Boston.
